British Mathematical Olympiad 2011 (Round 1)Chen Jiasheng (China; Upper 6th) scored 49/60 and Liu Qikun (China, Upper 6th) scored 40/60 in Round 1 of the British Mathematical Olympiad. They were placed 9th and 18th respectively in the country. Two other students were awarded Bronze medals; 5 others were awarded Distinctions.

The award of a Gold medal represents a considerable achievement. Candidates awarded a Distinction have also done extremely well, finishing in the top 25% of 1400 candidates.
The 4 medallists together with Pan Yue (China; Lower 6th) and Phan Nhat Minh (Vietnam) have been invited to take part in Round 2 of the Olympiad on Thursday 27 January 2011.
