Zhou Zhitian attended the Yuming Senior High School in Dalian, China.  He enrolled in the Lower 6th at Abbey College Cambridge in September 2008.

In the June 2010 A-level examinations he scored 2703/2900 marks and was awarded Grade A* passes in Chemistry, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics; he also achieved passes at AS-level in Further Mathematics (Additional) (grade A) and Economics (grade C). In the June 2009 A-level examinations he was awarded a Distinction in the Advanced Extension Award Mathematics paper together with an Outstanding grade in the STEP Mathematics 1 paper.  He achieved Silver medals in the Mathematics and Physics Olympiads.

During the summer of 2009 he undertook an engineering internship on the shop floor of a railway maintenance yard in Dalian.  He worked as a junior assistant in one of the teams tasked with scheduled maintenance of a fleet of diesel locomotives.

Zhou Zhitian was admitted to Trinity College, University of Cambridge, in October 2010 to read Engineering.
