Abbey College Cambridge Boarding House Accommodation
- Abbey College Cambridge has supervised Boarding House accommodation at 227 Milton Road and in Tripos Court and Purbeck House halls of residence.

2012
A limited number of Abbey College Cambridge students will have access to half-board accommodation in Tripos Court and Purbeck House halls of residence. Both of the halls are located near to the city centre, within easy walking distance of the college. - Abbey College Cambridge employs resident wardens who live on-site to supervise and assist students.
- The College offers 28 single study en-suite bedrooms spread over five floors of Tripos Court and 15 twin study en-suite bedrooms spread over three floors of Purbeck House.
- Both Halls operate entry phone system and have telephone connections to each room. Tripos Court bedrooms are fully furnished with a single bed, storage boxes underneath, wardrobe, and desk with a bookshelf and bedside locker. The en-suite bathrooms have a shower, toilet and wash basin as well as a heated towel rail, mirror and vanity light. Fresh bed linen is provided every two weeks.
- The kitchens at Tripos Court are shared between six residents. They are furnished with a table and chairs and one lockable work unit per person. A sink, cooker, extractor fan and fridge-freezer are also provided. The rooms at Purbeck House contain a kitchenette which is shared between two students. They benefit from a sink, cooker, extractor fan and a mini fridge-freezer.
- Breakfast is offered in both halls and comprises a self-service meal of cereals, toast and drinks. The evening meal is catered for at the boarding houses by chefs employed by Abbey College Cambridge. They provide freshly cooked meals each day and cook foods influenced by many different cultures.
- Tripos Court and Purbeck House have on-site laundry facilities for the use of students.
- The resident wardens preside over the students and ensure they keep their rooms and kitchens tidy and clean. They inspect the accommodation regularly, and students who fail to meet the required standards incur fines.
All students who are under 18 years of age must live with a host family or in the boarding house accommodation organised by Abbey College Cambridge or with a parent or close relative.

- Deposit
A deposit of £500 per student is payable in advance on booking.
The deposit will be refunded when the student vacates, provided he or she has caused no damage to the property and has abided by the rules and incurred no fines. Fines will be deducted from the deposit and the balance refunded on departure.
- Conditions
Bookings are for a minimum of one academic year. In the event of early departure, the accommodation fee and deposit are not refundable.
Host Family Accommodation
- Abbey College Cambridge can arrange accommodation for students with host families in homes located in the city of Cambridge.
- The homes are generally within easy cycling distance or a short bus ride from the College; some homes are within waking distance. Each home takes between one and seven students. The majority of host families have at least two students.
- Host families are carefully selected to ensure friendly, safe and comfortable environments in which students are able to relax and study. Each student has his or her own single-study bedroom. Bathroom facilities are usually shared. Some families offer self-catering while others offer provide half-board, which includes breakfast and evening meals.
- Students enjoy a degree of independence, with their own set of house keys and the use of the house telephone and washing machine. Some houses have a living room and television for students, while in others these facilities are shared with the family.
- Rent money is paid directly to the host family and not to Abbey College Cambridge. The cost of accommodation varies between houses but is typically £130-£160 per week.
- A deposit is usually required, amounting to four weeks rent. The deposit will be returned to students when they leave the host family, provided there are no breakages or damage and the full notice period has been given in writing. The notice period is usually four weeks.
- A retainer fee is sometimes charged for students who choose to vacate their accommodation during college holidays.
