Summer Schools

Spending a summer in Cambridge is a truly unforgettable experience. Join one of our summer schools and you will benefit from the highest standards of teaching whilst having fun, making friends and living life in one of the world’s greatest university cities.

There are two summer schools to choose from. Our Abbey College Cambridge ‘Welcome to England’ Summer School is an intensive seven week programme of academic preparation and fun activities designed to prepare you for life in the UK and to progress onto one of our A Level, Foundation or GCSE programmes.

Our partner, Academic Summer also runs high quality one to seven week GCSE, IB and A Level preparation courses for students aged 13-18 at Abbey College Cambridge. It offers an intensive academic programme in combination with an exciting leisure programme and a specialist Oxbridge preparation week.

2017 Summer School Dates: 8th July – 26th August

Our seven week ‘Welcome to England’ Summer School runs in July and August every year. It provides the perfect opportunity to get ahead of your studies at Abbey College Cambridge whilst settling in to college life, experiencing English culture and having a great time.

Our summer school consists of combination of academic preparation and English language improvement. We will prepare you for the subjects you will be studying when the term starts in September. You will be taught by experts in your chosen subjects, with an additional focus on improving your academic and general English skills in speaking, reading, writing and listening ready for the start of term. Each week you will focus on a different academic subject, developing the skills and knowledge that you will need to succeed.

But it is not all work, you will also get to visit some amazing places and take part in regular activities as part of the programme. Last summer we visited Buckingham Palace, a Safari Park, took trips to the seaside and the Cambridge Science Centre, watched the Wicked Musical in London’s West End and adventure trekked in the tree tops of the UK’s largest pine forest. The final week of this year’s summer school is also a dedicated activities week, which includes lots of fun and practical activities based in Cambridge and further afield.

Our summer school costs £5,750 for the Seven week programme. This includes meals, accommodation in our Purbeck House Halls of Residence (2 minutes from the campus), all lessons and visits, including trips to lots of places across England. Places on our summer school are very popular and always fill up quickly. Students wishing to stay on for an additional week between the end of our summer school and start of term can do so at an additional cost of £300, this includes accommodation and three daily meals.

To secure a place, either contact us directly or consult your agent in your home country.

We look forward to welcoming you next summer!
