Last week we held the first ever Abbey College Cambridge Year 12 Maths Team Challenge. The challenge gave students the opportunity to tackle a variety of engaging mathematical activities while developing teamwork and communication skills.
Seven teams from both Maths and Further Maths groups joined in and spent two hours building towers, tackling mathematical problems and completing a cross number challenge. All the students took it very seriously and competition was fierce. In the end we had to say goodbye to two teams and five teams have now progressed to the semi-final which will be held in the New Year.
The Maths Challenge has proved very popular with our all students and we plan to make this an annual event.
