Unsure of your post GCSE Options?

Abbey College Cambridge understand that GCSE results day is one of the most nerve-wracking moments in a student’s life.

We know how overwhelming this time can be, and we’re here to help you navigate your next steps with confidence and clarity.

There are a number of reasons why you might want to rethink your next steps;

  • Grades are better than expected
  • You have changed your mind about the course you wanted to take
  • Grades are not as expcted and your first choice Sixth Form is no longer an option

In the first instance we would always recommend speaking to your current school about your options and contact your first choice sixth form. It’s important that you discuss your results with them as they may still accept you.

If your grades are not as expected, please read our blog about disappointing GCSE results.

We are inviting students who are unsure about their next steps to come and chat to us in person on Tuesday 26th August.  Call or contact us now to chat about your options for September.

What our Students have to say

“What surprised me the most about the teaching here is how supportive they are, as if I don’t understand something that they’re teaching, they can do a small one-on-one with me as part of the lesson and help me get a better understanding.”

“For me, outside of lessons, the thing I’ve most enjoyed has been Volleyball Club, because it gives me the opportunity to meet more people from other local schools and also students from other years at Abbey as well.”

“The boarding house is really good…we have good facilities and also very supportive house parents, so I have really enjoyed it here.”

“The thing I’ve enjoyed most outside of my lessons is definitely going on trips as I’ve had the opportunity to go to both Iceland and Italy.”

“The class size is way smaller than at my previous school and so the teachers can give me more support and they pay more attention to you. So it has really helped me improve my subjects that I wasn’t really good at before.”

“We appreciate that the school is very supportive of us, and that’s the thing that creates the sense of family and community here.”

“We’re encouraged to take control of our learning… [to prospective students] I would say just come and try, I mean I think it’s one of the best opportunities I’ve had.”
