James Noton

Abbey College Cambridge Head of Physics James Noton

Director of Studies

‘Students at Abbey are dedicated and engaged. I love the curiosity they have for the subject of Physics but also for the eccentric and bizarre quirks of the English language.’

James completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Oxford (Keble College) and graduated with a masters degree in Engineering Science. James then attended the University of Cambridge, receiving a PGCE in secondary science education.

Before Abbey, James taught Physics and Science at local colleges. He also worked as a Maths and Physics tutor whilst he completed his PGCE.

Outside of college, James enjoys playing guitar and bass, watching live music, keeping fit and building things (treehouses and huts mostly).
