Stephen du Plessis

Housemaster for Athena House

Stephen trained to be a teacher at the University of Brighton with a BSc in Secondary Mathematics.

He came into education after spending several years Ski Instructing in Switzerland where he obtained a Brevet Federal de Profeseur de Sports de Neige. During this time he led and managed multiple trips for a large number of children as well as coaching students from an International school. This led him to change career and become a classroom teacher, initially at a large independent school in Somerset.

From there he moved to Abbey College where he now teaches Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Computer Science. His experience in leading trips led him to becoming a Housemaster.

As well as being Athena Housemaster he is passionate about hiking, skiing and exploring the countryside around Cambridge.
