Abbey College Cambridge is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our aspiring medical students, who between them have received an impressive 26 offers to study Medicine at universities across the UK. As the new academic year approaches, it’s been wonderful to see these students confirming their places and preparing to take the next step in their journey toward becoming healthcare professionals.
This success is a testament not only to the students’ dedication and hard work, but also to the support provided by the College’s Medicine Preparation Programme — a comprehensive initiative designed to guide and prepare students for every aspect of the competitive medical school application process.

One of our successful students, Ngone Phu, shared her experience:
“I’m really grateful to Abbey College for the incredible support throughout my medical school application. The extensive interview practice and detailed personal statement guidance tailored to each university were key to helping me secure a place at universities. I also really appreciated the help in finding hospital shadowing and volunteering opportunities, which gave me valuable experience to talk about during interviews. The programme’s medical ethics lessons, online courses, and research projects like the mini EPQ helped deepen my understanding of healthcare and strengthened my application.”
David also added:
“The program supported me with lots of activities, including applying for clinical shadowing and hospital volunteering, carrying out a mini-EPQ (scientific report writing) and disease presentations, lessons on the NHS and medical ethics, as well as UCAT preparation. These meaningful experiences were essential in helping me write my personal statement and developing understanding in medicine as career.
I benefited tremendously from the mock interview sessions, as the teachers helped me approach unfamiliar questions and scenarios and provided detailed feedback that helped me tailor my responses to prepare for my medicine interviews. The teachers’ help played a crucial part for me to impress the interviewers.
The program not only helped me in getting the medical school offers but also provided me with the skills needed to become a good doctor in the future.”
Abbey College Cambridge starts helping students prepare for a medicine application from Year 9 onwards, offering early exposure to the medical field and helping students build a strong foundation for future applications.
