Abbey College Cambridge is offering a special 6 Month International Foundation Programme for ambitious international students who want to complete their studies and progress to university in 2027.
Starting in January 2027, students can choose from two academic pathways; Business, Accounting and Economics or Biomedicine, and study alongside students completing our established one-year International Foundation Programme.
This is an intensive programme designed for academically strong, independent and motivated students. Applications are considered on a case-by-case basis to ensure that students have the academic background and English language ability required to succeed.

Biomedicine Pathway
Successful completion of our Biomedicine pathway opens up progression opportunities to study Medicine and other scientific courses at a range of universities both in the UK and overseas. Students need to have previously completed one year of level 3 study in Biology to be eligible for the medicine pathway.

How does the 6 Month Foundation Programme work?
Students join Abbey College Cambridge in January 2027 and immediately begin studying Term 2 of our International Foundation Programme alongside students who started the programme in September.
Because January-entry students join part-way through the academic programme, they must independently study the content covered during Term 1 in addition to completing their Term 2 and Term 3 studies.
Students should therefore be confident independent learners with a strong previous academic record and the motivation to manage an intensive programme of study.
Content from Term 1 will be formally assessed through examinations taken at the end of Term 3.
Applications are reviewed individually to determine whether the accelerated programme is appropriate for each student.
Progress to leading universities
Our Foundation Programme is designed to prepare students for successful undergraduate study.
Unlike Foundation programmes that restrict progression to a small number of partner institutions, Abbey College Cambridge works with students to support applications to a wide range of universities.
Previous Foundation students have received offers from and progressed to universities including the University of Manchester, University of Bristol, Durham University, University of Leeds, University of Birmingham and King’s College London, amongst many others.

Important information about January entry
Students must be ready to begin their studies on the published January 2027 start date. Late arrivals cannot be accepted onto the 6 Month Foundation Programme because of the intensive nature of the course.
We recommend applying as early as possible to allow sufficient time for your application, admissions process and travel arrangements.
