Philip White

Philip White

Housemaster for Hera House

Philip’s 4 year degree at University of Bedfordshire was dedicated to PE teaching.

Before joining Abbey, Philip worked in a state school in Essex for 8 years, teaching PE and holding numerous positions of responsibility including ITT (Initial Teacher Training) mentor and Head of Year 11. Philip inspired up to 200 Year 11 students each year through their GCSE exams and to be the best version of themselves that they can be, in both an academic and pastoral sense.

As well as being Hera Housemaster, Philip also organises our extra-curricular activities, teaches PE to any CSA student and leads the school’s DofE programme. In his spare time, Philip enjoys anything associated with sport – particularly running, football, rugby and tennis. He also likes to spend quality time with his wife, and dog Hettie.
