Our A Level Economics students recently attended an economics revision conference in Cambridge.

At the conference, held at a local cinema complex, students heard from a number of senior examiners about course content in A Level Economics. During a series of presentations topics such as the impact of technological changes on the high street, problems facing UK steel manufacture, developments in the labour market, and the EU and Euro were revised in depth, with useful, current real world examples discussed and related back to the course content.

The conference gave our students a useful insight into the minds of examiners and enabled us to refine the focus of our revision ahead of examinations in the summer. Economics teacher Michael Oswell, who helped organise and accompanied our students at the conference thought it proved to be a very useful day;

‘Our students worked hard to develop their knowledge and understanding throughout the day. I sat in a number of talks where complex questions were asked of the audience, and a significant number of our students were keen to volunteer answers, they did the college credit.’
