Abbey College Cambridge celebrates new campus handover

At Abbey College Cambridge we are celebrating receiving the keys to our new campus. College Principal Dr Julian Davies was officially handed the building by Tim Harwood, who has been managing the build on behalf of Abbey and Homerton College, which is part of the University of Cambridge.

Our new campus has been purpose built to perfectly fit the learning and boarding needs of our students, features include:

  • 120 ensuite, full board student bedrooms on campus, and a further 130 rooms within a 5 minute walk.
  • 42 classrooms equipped with the latest teaching technology.
  • 2 Libraries, 2 dedicated music studios and a brand new facility for GCSE and A level Art & Design.
  • On campus restaurant serving all student meals.
  • On campus coffee bar.
  • Fully equipped gym and sports hall.

Speaking of the handover, College Principal Dr Julian Davies commented:

‘It’s with great pride that I receive our amazing new college campus, this is the culmination of years of planning and hard work by the college staff and our contractors and partners. The new campus gives us a truly outstanding facility to complement our already outstanding teaching, boarding and pastoral provision. We’re all looking forward to welcoming our students to the new Abbey College Cambridge.’
