Abbey College Cambridge partners With IRIS

Abbey College Cambridge has been named as an Institute for Research in Schools (IRIS) Partner School. IRIS is a charitable foundation with a mission to involve students in real scientific projects by bringing university and industrial experts into schools. The Institutes trustees include Professor Stephen Rose of Imperial College and the University of Oxford, and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Cambridge Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz.<?p>

The institute conducts research across all three Abbey College Cambridge Science subjects ; Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The first IRIS projects that our students will be involved with will be in the area of genome sequencing.

September 2026 Scholarships

We are now accepting applications from local students for September 2026 entry scholarships at Abbey College Cambridge.

Abbey College Cambridge Scholarships Open

Generous scholarships are available for local students — for 13+ entry (Year 9), awards may be up to 100% of tuition fees. For  Year 12 entry there are scholarships offering up to a 20% discount.

Our scholarships recognise academic ability, critical thinking, teamwork and community contribution and are awarded based on performance at our assessment day on 29th January.
