Abbey College Cambridge Main Entrance

Record breaking GCSE results

25th August 22

Abbey College Cambridge is celebrating the outstanding GCSE results secured by its students today (25 August).

The leading independent college is delighted to announce significant increases on results obtained in 2019 when students last sat invigilated exams and last year’s teacher-assessed grades. The students’ results were particularly impressive for the percentage of the exams at grade 9 (27%) and 8 and 9 (48%). That’s a shade under half of the grades at A* equivalent.

Furthermore, 91% of results were graded 9-5/4, 79% 9-6 and 61% 9-7.

These results are even more deserved given the unprecedent disruption to our students learning with lockdowns, quarantines and remote learning.

Andrew Humphris, Vice Principal Academic congratulated students on their exceptional results.  Saying “The team here at Abbey College Cambridge could not be prouder of the GCSE class of 2022.  They have shown amazing resilience towards their studies and these results are well deserved.  Also thank you to the academic team for all their support offered to the students.”
