‘The Cloud Who Wanted to be a Star’, Commemorating Dr Kevin Marshall

8th September 15

The Cloud Who Wanted To Be A Star

Dr Kevin Marshall, was a greatly admired Physics teacher at Abbey College Cambridge who sadly passed away this year.

To commemorate his memory, the college has published a children’s story written by Kevin called ‘The Cloud That Wanted To Be A Star’. It’s a story of an interstellar cloud who dreams of one day becoming a star, the book features illustrations created by one of our Alumna, Do Nam Phuong.

Speaking of Kevin’s commitment and passion College Principal Dr Julian Davies; ‘Kevin was a much loved member of the Physics department at Abbey Cambridge, where he dedicated himself to passing on his passion for physics, and especially astronomy, to students and colleagues alike. Kevin was taken before his time earlier this year after a long battle with cancer.  He is greatly missed by all in the Abbey community.

Kevin wrote this story, ‘The cloud who wanted to be a star’ and we felt it fitting to produce this published edition in his memory. This book is dedicated to Kevin’s family, from the students, his colleagues and his friends at Abbey College Cambridge.
