Abbey College Cambridge Students Visit Disneyland

35 Abbey College Cambridge students and 5 staff recently celebrated the end of the college year with two days relaxing after exams with friends, food and rides at Disneyland, Paris.

We travelled by Eurostar, which was so fast that the teachers didn’t realise that they’d reached France. Once there, we settled into rooms and explored the Park.

Over the 2 days, Abbey College Cambridge students discovered exciting rides and met Disney characters. Nellie, Vicky, Amy and Iris braved Space Mountain, which they highly recommend as a rollercoaster ride through space, seeing the surface of the Moon. Oliver recounts how it felt as though they were in the Milky Way. Hollywood Tower was the frighteningly big drop favourite for Amy and Iris.

They all found the Motor Action Show amazing as it showed how action movies are filmed, drivers’ skills when flying through fire. Some of the teachers were thinking about a change of career.

The teachers ate chips with everything and avoided cheese while strawberry chocolate and toffee apple were the foods of choice for Monique.

On the final night we watched a stunning firework display over the famous Disney fairytale castle.

Students were really helpful on the long journey home so it really was a team effort. Special mention to Leon and Monique who organised the queues at Customs!

Thanks to all the staff and students who made Disney such a memorable trip.
