At the end of the last academic year, 19 Year 12 students sat the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge.

This competition aims to stretch and challenge students interested in chemistry and will provide an excellent experience for anyone considering taking their studies further.

Set by an experienced team of teachers and university chemists, it is designed to be accessible to Year 12 students but will take them significantly beyond the syllabus and encourage them to think about science in the way they would at university.

We are delighted that 17 of our students received an award in this incredibly difficult challenge.  Also the students who perform the best win an invitation to a residential camp at the University of Cambridge at the end of August.

We are delighted that Xinchen (Alan) received this award and attended the Chemistry Camp at the end of the Summer.

In summary the College received.

1 Roentgenium Award – Xinchen (Alan)

5 Gold Awards – Yiming (Harry), Ho Joshua, Sze Him (Angus), Jade Hao, Maria

4  Silver Awards – Yumin, Robert John, Minsung (Matthew), Meiyi

7 Coppers Awards – Man Nok (Percie) , Szu Yu (Janice), Shaokang (Bruce), Quoc Bao, Youngseo (Julia), Chuin Ying, Toi Wun (Darren)

Just to be able sit this paper shows advanced knowledge in Chemistry, to receive an award is an amazing achievement and many congratulations to our Year 12 Chemists for performing so well in this Challenge.
