Celebrating Exceptional A-level Success

Abbey College Cambridge is marking the achievements of its high-performing students today (14 August), following the announcement of outstanding A-level results.

We are delighted for our cohort of hard working students as grades have improved year on year. More than half (52%) of A-level entries were graded the highest results of A*-A, with a significant 80% of entries graded A*-B – substantially exceeding the national averages of A*-A 28.3% and A*-B 54.4%.

Success was seen across the subject board. In Computer Science, one third of grades (33%) were awarded an A*, while Mathematics achieved 32% at A* and an outstanding 60% at A*-A. Further mathematics saw 57% of entries graded A*-A, with an impressive 86% A*-B. In Chemistry, 58% of grades were awarded at A*-A, rising to 88% at A*-B, while Biology excelled with 83% A*-B. Both Art, Psychology and languages celebrated a remarkable 100% A*-B, Politics recorded an excellent 80% of results graded A*-B, and in Economics, 88% of grades achieved were A*-B.

This year, we have once again achieved remarkable success in securing offers for highly competitive medicine and dentistry degrees, with an impressive 26 offers received and all 12 medic students progressing to university.

Notably, the college is also celebrating over 15 years of continued Oxbridge success, with students earning coveted places at the prestigious universities. Building on this strong track record, Abbey College Cambridge students are set to progress to some of the world’s leading universities, including the London School of Economics and Political Science, Imperial College London and University College London, alongside other Russell Group and top 20 universities.
