Abbey College Cambridge doesn’t sleep at half-term and our students were certainly busy.Prospective doctors took part in the Medicine Boot Camp, some lucky students went to Iceland where they visited Helsinki, the Reyjkanes Peninsula, the Golden Circle and swam in the Blue Lagoon. Some went bowling.

It was a big weekend of sport here at Abbey College Cambridge. The Girl’s Netball team lost 20-8 vs Netherhall, while the Girls Badminton ran out 6-3 winners vs Girton College, and the Girl’s Basketball lost 22-54 v Hills Road News. Well done to all who took part!
It’s been another fantastic year of fundraising here at Abbey College Cambridge! Our amazing students and staff have raised £4,333 for our college charity East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) so far – and we have lots more fundraising events planned in the lead up to Christmas!
Abbey College Cambridge student Juan Fernandez Pottecher, currently studying for his A Levels, won a place on a prestigious University of Cambridge Chemistry Summer School programme after finishing in the top 50 student Chemists in the country (and receiving the Roentgenium Award) in the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge.
Our AS and Pre-Degree Diploma Business Studies students gained a practical insight into operations management with a visit to the Jaguar Land Rover Factory in Solihull.
On Tuesday 6th March students from our Volunteering Club paid a visit to our College charity, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH). From its base just North of Cambridge the hospice supports families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions.
Abbey College Cambridge welcomed South Cambridgeshire Member of Parliament, Heidi Allen, who was invited to the college by our A Level Government and Politics students.
