This represents an amazing 36% Oxbridge application to offer success rate for Abbey College Cambridge students in 2017, almost twice the UK national average and as much as four times the rate achieved for some of the most competitive Oxbridge courses such as Natural Sciences, Engineering and Mathematics.
The results also mean that an astounding 10% of our cohort of upper sixth A-Level students have received an Oxbridge offer this year.
This year’s Oxbridge offers are:
Speaking of their success, College Principal Dr Julian Davies was justifiably proud; ‘’Well done to this year’s Oxbridge offer holders, their achievement pays testament not only to their incredible commitment to their studies, but also to the dedication of our teaching and staff support teams who leave no stone unturned in their efforts to provide all students with the best possible chance of achieving their dreams.’
College Vice Principal Academic, Gavin Copland who helps manage our Oxbridge application programme also paid testament; ‘To have 10% of our Upper Sixth students receive offers to study at two of the world’s best universities really reflects on the day to day excellence of the teaching we offer here at Abbey College Cambridge. It also demonstrates the value of unique programmes such as our Pre-Degree Diploma and Oxbridge application support. We are looking forward to similar levels of success when our students applying to the rest of the top five and Russell Group universities receive their offers.’
